Terms & Conditions

The Oliver Twist Country Inn (OTCI) carries out business only on the basis of its standard terms and conditions.

Bookings

All bookings are considered provisional until you provide written confirmation or secure the booking by means of payment.

For bookings of five or more rooms, the OTCI must receive written confirmation within 4 days of the initial booking. If the OTCI does not receive the confirmation within this period, it reserves the right to release the facilities and re-let them.

Amendments and Cancellations by the Client

Amendments to confirmed bookings and/or arrangements must be made in writing.

In the event of all or part of a booking being cancelled, the OTCI will be entitled to make a cancellation charge according to the following scale. Guests may cancel up to 72 hours before the date of arrival, and no charge will be taken. If the cancellation is after this time, the first nigh t is charged. The first night fee is taken for every room with a reservation.

Significant changes to the programme or the expected number of guests may result in amendments to the rates and/or facilities offered by the OTCI.

Payment

Unless payment is made in advance, , payment must be made as:-
Payment by cash or cheque prior to departure from the OTCI. A valid cheque card must support personal cheques. Cheques cannot be pre-dated.

Company cheques are NOT accepted without prior clearance. (Please contact the OTCI prior to arrival.)

Payment by credit /charge card. Your card must be made available to Reception immediately on check-in and your account will be charged on departure. Major credit and debit cards are accepted (excluding AMEX). Credit facilities are not offered. All published rates include VAT at the current rate. Accommodation rates are per room per night with meal plans as indicated within tariff. The OTCI reserves the right to alter prices for any reason up to the time of booking. After this, prices may only be altered to reflect a change in the rate of VAT or for any other reason outside of the control of the OTCI, in which case the changes will be notified to the Client. In the latter event, the Client may cancel the booking without cost.

Amendments or Cancellation by the Oliver Twist Country Inn

The Oliver Twist Country Inn may cancel the booking:-

If the booking might, in the opinion of the OTCI, prejudice its reputation, or its ability to remain impartial
If the OTCI becomes aware of any alteration in the client's financial situation.

Damage / Theft

The customer shall be liable for any damage / theft caused to the Oliver Twist Country Inn, or any furnishings, utensils or equipment therein by the negligent or wilful act or default of the customer or any guest or employee of his and shall pay to the OTCI on demand the amount required to make good or remedy such damage, including compensation for loss of business whilst such damage is being repaired.

Personal Property

The OTCI shall not be liable for the loss or any damage to the property of the customer or any guest suffered or incurred whilst on the OTCI premises, save insofar as the same may have been caused by the default of the OTCI, its servant or agents. The OTCI does not accept responsibility for damage to, or for theft from, or for theft of vehicles parked on OTCI premises.

Arrivals/Departures

Unless specific alternative arrangements have been confirmed, accommodation is available from 16.00 hours on the day of arrival, and must be vacated by 10.00 hours on the day of departure.

Disabled Guest Rooms

A number of rooms offer modified facilities for use by disabled guests. As needs do vary, guests are requested to check with OTCI on 01945 450523

Pet Policy

The OTCI welcomes guide dogs but regrets it cannot accept other animals.

The Client is responsible for controlling the guide dog and will be liable for any damage, soilage or injury however caused.

Behaviour

The OTCI reserves the right to judge acceptable levels of noise or behaviour of Clients, guests or representatives, who must take all steps for corrective action as requested by the OTCI. In the event of failure to comply with management requests, the OTCI may terminate the booking or stop any event immediately without being liable for any refund or compensation.

Discrimination

It is the policy of the OTCI not to discriminate on the grounds of race, colour, nationality, creed, sex, marital status, age, ethnic origin or disability. Clients, their employees, guests and all sub-contractors engaged by or on behalf of the Client are expected to adhere to this policy and the OTCI may, without incurring any liability to the Client, remove from the OTCI any person or persons offending against this policy.

External purchases

No wines, spirits, beers or food may be brought into the OTCI or OTCI grounds by Clients, their guests or representatives for consumption or sale on the premises without the express written consent of the OTCI and for which a charge may be made by the OTCI.

Comments and complaints

Any comment or complaint regarding the stay should be made to the owners or their representative at the time of visit so that the matter can be resolved immediately. Statutory requirements

The OTCI is subject to statutory controls, including those relating to fire, licensing, entertainment, health, hygiene and safety. Clients, their guests and representatives must strictly observe these.

Liability

Other than for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the OTCI, the OTCI liability to the Client is limited to the price of the booking.

Unless the OTCI is liable under the above clause, the Client indemnifies the OTCI from and against any and all liability and any claims, proceedings or damages resulting or arising from the booking, event or function, the Client, guests or any outside contractors of the Client.

The OTCI will not be liable for failure to perform to the extent that the failure is caused by any factor beyond its reasonable control.

The OTCI does not accept responsibility whatsoever for damage to, or theft from, or theft of, vehicles parked on the OTCI premises.

Dispute

These terms will be construed in accordance with English law and the OTCI and Client submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, these terms will be construed in accordance with local law and the OTCI and Client submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the local courts.
